Questions
Which calendar does it follow?
The General Roman Calendar as kept in the dioceses of the United States in 2027: the solemnities, feasts of the Lord, feasts of the saints and best-loved memorials, the Sundays of each season, and the year's transfers. The Annunciation, for example, falls in Holy Week in 2027 and is kept on 5 April.
Are holy days of obligation marked?
Yes, with a cross after the name, following the USCCB rules: 1 January, 15 August and 1 November are not obligatory when they fall on a Saturday or Monday.
Is the Ascension on Thursday or Sunday?
Most American dioceses keep it on the Seventh Sunday of Easter, so the calendar puts it there and notes the Thursday for the provinces that keep it then.
