Jacob Jordaens (1593–1678) was a painter of the Flemish Baroque painting, born in Antwerp. He worked in Amsterdam and Putte. He trained under Adam van Noort. Among his documented works are The Abduction of Europa, Prometheus Bound and Mercury and Argus.
