Saint Lucy by Catholic Art Studio: what it depicts
Saint Lucy (Santa Lucia)
Who they were
A Sicilian girl martyred under Diocletian whose name means light; her feast once fell on the shortest day of the year and is still kept with candles in Scandinavia and Sicily.
Why people ask for them
Patron of the blind, eye disease, and Syracuse. Feast day December 13. Died around 304.
About this drawing
One of the Charcoal Saints: forty-eight portraits in charcoal and white chalk, drawn to one sheet so that any two hang together. The likeness comes from the saint’s traditional iconography. An image model drew it; a person chose it.
Who Made It
Created by Catholic Art Studio. Drawn in 2026. Charcoal on toned paper.
Studio original — drawn with an image model to our brief, chosen by hand.
