Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841–1919) was a painter of the Impressionism, born in Limoges. He worked in Paris, Aix-en-Provence and Argenteuil. He trained under Charles Gounod and Charles Gleyre. He died in Cagnes-sur-Mer in 1919. Among his documented works are Bal du moulin de la Galette, Luncheon of the Boating Party and La Balançoire.
