John Everett Millais (1829–1896) was a painter of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, born in Southampton. He worked in London, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and Paris. He died in Palace Gate in 1896. Among his documented works are Ophelia, Christ in the House of His Parents and Isabella.
