Jan van Eyck (1390–1441) was a painter of the Early Netherlandish painting, born in Prince-Bishopric of Liège. He worked in Bruges, Lille and The Hague. He trained under Robert Campin. He died in Bruges in 1441. Among his documented works are Arnolfini Portrait, Dresden Triptych and Lucca Madonna.
