Herbert Arnould Olivier (1861–1952) was a distinguished British painter renowned for his portraits and landscapes. Born in Battle, East Sussex, he was part of a prominent family; his father, Henry Arnould Olivier, was a clergyman, and his nephew was the famed actor Laurence Olivier. Educated at Sherborne School and later at the Royal Academy Schools, Olivier won the Creswick Prize in 1882. His artistic career was marked by extensive exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Royal Academy and the Paris Salon. Notably, he served as an official war artist during World War I, contributing significant works to the Imperial War Museum.
