Frans Francken the Younger

Frans Francken the Younger (1581–1642) was a prominent Flemish painter and a key figure within the Francken artistic dynasty of Antwerp. He inherited his skill from his father, Frans Francken the Elder, and expanded the family's reputation through innovative contributions to religious and genre painting. Francken the Younger was central to the development of Antwerp's Baroque movement, known for his narrative clarity, vivid imagination, and the intricate detail characterizing his compositions. His work flourished during a time of religious and artistic change in the Spanish Netherlands.
