Filippino Lippi and Pietro Perugino

Filippino Lippi (probably 1457–1504) and Pietro Perugino (c. 1446/1452–1523) share one credit here because they share one painting. The Servite friars of Santissima Annunziata in Florence commissioned a double-sided altarpiece for their high altar from Filippino, who had begun the Descent from the Cross when he died in April 1504. Perugino took over the commission, finished the Descent with his workshop and painted the smaller panels, completing the altarpiece by 1507. Here: Descent from the Cross.
