Andrea Mantegna (1431–1506) was a painter of the Italian Renaissance, born in Isola Mantegna. He worked in Venice, Padua and Mantua. He trained under Francesco Squarcione. He died in Mantua in 1506. Among his documented works are Triumphs of Caesar, Saint Mark and Death of the Virgin.
